The name
Monarch's Roost draws from two inspirations.
The first is the Monarchs of World History and their Royal, Exclusive Retreats: the private places where rulers withdrew to rest, restore, and gather the people closest to them.
The second is the enchanting beauty of the Monarch Butterfly, which travels great distances and gathers together in a roost to rest before moving on.
Together they form Monarch's Roost: a luxurious wellness retreat and gathering place in the Blue Ridge foothills.
A roost is simply a place to settle in and rest. Here that means a private hot tub and an outdoor infrared sauna for restoring, fireplaces and a fire pit for gathering, and room for up to fourteen guests to come together. The butterfly in our logo is the whole idea: travel far, land somewhere beautiful, and stay together a while.
About the founders
Hi, I'm Drew & that's Ranger— the founders of Monarch's Roost. Many years ago, a friend suggested a quick trip to a charming little mountain town called Helen. The moment I arrived, I was captivated by the enchanting Bavarian village, the friendliness of the locals, and the stunning natural surroundings that enveloped the area. There was an extraordinary peace here, a sense of calm and connection that I had never experienced before.
From that very first visit, I knew I wanted to create something special — a cabin rental near Helen, GA, where others could embrace that same grounding energy and sense of wonder. Monarch's Roost is designed to be a sanctuary where you can rest your mind, reconnect with nature, and experience a stillness that remains long after you've returned home.
As someone with a passion for travel, I've always sought destinations that beautifully combine authentic local culture with world-class comfort — the kind of experiences you find in the finest luxury mountain vacation rentals and boutique hotels across the globe. In designing Monarch's Roost, I aimed to bring that same level of excellence to a cabin experience that reflects the warmth and soul of the mountains while offering refined details, serene design, and restorative experiences for both mind and body.
